My grandchildren found this horny toad in our backyard yesterday. They are very rare around here these days. They want to keep it for a pet, but I told them they need to let him go . . . they are having a hard time with that! We use to have horny toads all over around here . . . perhaps due to children or adults capturing them and turning them into pets. This guy has been named "Vincent" and "Vinny" for short. He is really neat and very healthy . . . I want him to stay that way . . . I just need to convince the kids of that now.

I've never seen a horny toad. Cute little fellow and I can see why the grandkids would want to keep him as a pet.
ReplyDeleteHe is very cute, Mavis. I want to keep him too! I just feel so bad . . . like he is going to miss his home but he seems to be doing very very well. The kids went out and got him everything he needs and he is loving his new home. We will see . . . if I see him unhappy or not eating, I will let him go myself! He is so friendly too, Mavis.
