Mom's Christmas Tree Jewels ~ Memory Count Down ~ Day 5

ca ~ 1960's
I am not sure of the year that mom may have purchased this ornament. I know it's been around since I was at least seven or eight years old so that would put right in the 1960's . . .  it's been around for a while! Mom only had two of this type of ornament but it's colorful and has a little bit of that faux spray snow on it too.

  1. I don't know how she kept such wonderful care of her orniments...she really took great care to have had them as long as she did. I think my collection started in the early eightys and I wrap them , each one separate and box them myself. I am
Hoping they will be around, maybe in the attic, but still be around for my grandchild. Thank you for sharing number fives memory!

  2. Mom had a way with keeping things like brand new. I have quite a few of her Christmas tablecloths and they were ironed and folded perfectly even up until she passed. When I went back to her home to collect several of the tablecloths, they were perfectly ironed! She had had them for many many years and most are from Germany . . . not a spot or wrinkle on them ever. I am amazed at how she did that. One use at my house and they are done no matter how much I wash, ironed or whatever to them!

Her ornaments were in an ornament organizer. One of the plastic ones that stack and have little cardboard cubbie holes for each ornament! I think maybe you can get them at a craft store or maybe like Target or something, but these stack and snap together in layers! I took a photo of each layer and I am putting them back exactly as she had them too. I am hoping that by doing the same as she did, I will preserve these beautiful ornaments for my grandchildren and future generations. I think back in the 50's and on, she kept them wrapped in tissue paper and in storage boxes. I don't recall but she sure did preserve them for us.

  3. Weeellll, now I think this one is my favorite. But I've loved them all. The center of this one with the jeweled colors is gorgeous. I know your Mom must be smiling to know that you are so appreciative of her Christmas Collections and that you are taking such good care of them for the future generations. So very special.
