ca ~ 1950's
I love this pink glass ornament . . . Mom (1933~2010) has four of them in her collection. All four glass balls, show the evidence of many years of use by having a crackled finish and the pink color has turned to silver in certain areas. I did a bit of research on this ornament and what I found was that is was made in the 1950's by Shiny Brite and that they are Mercury glass (love Mercury glass Christmas ornaments). I remember these always being on our tree . . . I never really appreciated them until this year and it's amazing how mom kept all these ornaments for so long and in such wonderful condition . . . I'm so glad she did.~ Happy Holidays! ~
Simply lovely. And my favorite color too!
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas, Gini. I so enjoy seeing life through the eye of your camera. Thanks for sharing!
Gini, I'm really sorry this series has to end because it's something I looked forward to each day. The ornaments are unique, beautiful and meaningful, and your photos are professional. I'd never be able to pick out a favorite...I love them all. Thanks for sharing your treasurers.
ReplyDeleteHow beautifully that ornament reflects the lights. Merry Christmas to you and your family!
ReplyDeleteGini, I have two from MOM. My family says why do you still have them. Well I just can't part with them yet. Maybe a Grandson someday will cherish them.
