My Hydrangea's ~
This Hydrangea beauty sits on my front porch, and has been since a very dear friend gave it to me in the
mid 1990's. Hydrangea's are one of my favorite flowers. The flower heads are usually pink in color, I stuck a nail in the soil (a nail will change the acidity of the soil) and a beautiful lavender/bluish color blossomed as a result of that nail.

Gini, I'm so glad you started this. I love a daily dose of pictures. Many thanks. And have fun with it.
ReplyDeleteThank you Barbara...I have been wanting to do this for a very long time...Jasia and Vickie inspired me and it's really alot of fun. I have always had a love of "photos" and have lots of them!
ReplyDeleteI had started this project last year (Jan 2010),but most of my photos were of my grandchildren and I did not feel comfortable posting them on my blog...I am going to have to get creative and learn to use my camera, and it's a place for me to "share" photos for family to see too.
Gini, a NAIL?? Really?? OK, will that work for hydrangeas planted IN the ground.
ReplyDeleteI have a 365 at Reflection's Flora and Fauna, have you visited??
Yes a NAIL..the rustier the better they say! And, as fas as I know, it works for hydrangeas planted in the ground also!
ReplyDeleteNo I haven't visited...send me the link Carol.
Very nice Gini! A photographer you are too! Beautiful hydrangea.
ReplyDeleteWow Gini, what a cool idea; a great way to showcase photos. I will be visiting here often 'cause nothing is better than a great photo to put a smile on my face. This one is beautiful, but I'm partial because hydrangeas are my favorite flowers. I didn't know about the nail trick; I'll have to try that with mine this Spring. My blooms are usually lavender to a dark purple, but seem to be lightening up over the years. I may have to join you and start a blog like this of my own! (wink) I really like the idea.
ReplyDeleteSandra
Sandra ~ It is a great idea and I love it...I owe my renewed inspiration to Vickie and Jasia...so thank you! Would love to see your photos Sandra...I will be watching for them!
ReplyDeleteCheryl ~ Thank you! No, a photographer I am not! I have much to learn and a very long way to go...but, it will be fun playing, learning and trying!
Stunning, Gini...
ReplyDeleteThank you Karen...I love these beautiful flowers.
