My Aunt Ginnie gave me this "mother and daughter" holding each other sculpture, when my mom passed away in July, 2010. It has a very personal meaning for me, a little reminder...a reflection...a gesture that marks a memory of mom and I, so perfectly.

Willow Tree, by Susan Lordi
This piece sits on my roll top desk, and all I have to do is look-up each day, and smile...
Oh Gini! That is the sweetest thing...how quickly that brought tears to my eyes! It is lovely!
ReplyDeleteThank you Lisa...I really do love this little sculpture..I actually received two...the mother and daughter and then an Angel...love the
ReplyDeleteWillow tree line...they are amazing. When I got this one...it really hit home...it's so mom and I and it really touches my heart.
Gini,
ReplyDeleteI have been going through some of my mothers 'stuff' of late, as you may know. But, what a great picture and image you have here.
Thank you for sharing.
Russ
Thank you Russ...I know what you mean...I am doing the same.
ReplyDeleteI have a long way to go on my photography skills, but it's fun learning!
So nice that you can look up each day at it, I surround myself with special pieces too, so I can glance and look and remember and smile and feel the peace.
ReplyDeleteIt is a nice feeling Carol...I have done the same...Mom and Oma are always all around me, and like you...it brings a sense of peace.
ReplyDeleteWhat a nice gesture by your aunt and wonderful that you can look and reflect on it often.
