A memory is a photograph taken by the heart...to make a special moment last forever...and of all the memory-pictures that happy times can bring, the best are those that families make together ~

Mom's Pink Geranium's ~

Pink Geranium

One of the many pretty plants I brought from
mom's (Elfriede Haf, 1933~2010) home. Her patio
was packed with beautiful flowers and plants.

3 Musketeers ~

This is the last of our Halloween candy . . . my grandson pointed out to me that there are only three of the "3 Musketeers" left . . . made me laugh!  I'm glad too that this is the last of the candy . . . too tempting.

The "Past is Present" Photo Challenge ~

My daughter on her first day of school at our front door Then and Now, she will be teaching children in 2011.

My daughter on her first day of school in 1987, at our front door.

Our front door today in 2011

This was not an easy project to do, I do now know what, Vickie, at Photos by BeNotForgot was experiencing! This was the best out of many photos I took in every way I could muster . . .  and with two different Canon cameras. This will take a bit more practice but for now, I am using this one for the photo challenge  The Past is Present: Genealogy Photo Challenge For World Photography Day that, Denise Levenick issued to us geneabloggers, genealogists, and family historians on her blog, The Family Curator.

Here's how you can participate ~

The Family Curator is issuing a challenge to geneabloggers, genealogists, and family historians! Celebrate genealogy and family history for World Photography Day August 19 by combining the past and present in a photograph. You might want to recreate an old photo or bring the past to the present day in DearPhotograph style.
Post your photograph with descriptive caption on your blog and send the link to The Family Curator no later than 6am PST 15 Aug 2011. I will post a round-up article of contributions on or before August 19, World Photography Day.
Get creative and have fun!

Pajama party cookies ~

The genealogy bloggers had a pajama party in the lounge area at Jamboree this evening. Some pretty neat pajamas were worn and some great cookies for all of us to munch on . . . these are just some of the cookies remaining. Thank you, Elyse for a great get together, and thank you Susan Kitchens for helping with the cookie photo shoot!

Scanning photos ~

I am organizing and scanning photos . . . my Flip Pal mobile scanner has really been a great way of accomplishing this huge task. One day . . . I will hopefully have all of our family photos digitized . . . in my lifetime . . . hopefully! I only have about 10 more large photo boxes to go!

Colorful and fragrant Freesia ~

These "smell so good" Freesia's belong to my neighbor...I started out on my daily walk and couldn't resist capturing these beauties. I usually take my little Canon Power Shot SX120 IS with me (easier to carry). The color and scent these flowers have, is wonderful! My neighbors have the prettiest flowers growing all over...so having my camera with me at all times is a must.
