In-line skateboard ~

My six year old grand son came over with this new and trending In-line Skateboard. Oma is NOT liking it at all . . . he is learning to ride it and I don't want to see him get hurt. I guess Oma has to let go but I would rather he learn while he is with his mom and dad! He, of course, is very excited about it!

  1. Hope he is padded up with knee and elbow protectors and a little helmet. That way the tumbles won't hurt!
I wonder if he'll persuade you to have a turn on the board?

  2. My mom bought my son his first skateboard, I think because my brother always loved his. I would not let him near it until he had all the safety items needed, (helmet, knee and elbow pads). What's funny is, we never had any of those things as kids and we survived.

    His skateboard looks very cool!

  3. I agree, ours have all the necessary gear, helmet, knee, elbow pads, etc. . . . but, I am still not liking it! It's true we had these growing up and never wore a helmet or anything, Terri! How in the world did we survive! A friends son was riding his skateboard down a hill . . . NO helmet and ended up hitting his head and was in the hospital and very critical . . . he is ok now but it was very scary and I always have that on my mind. But, none of our kids go without any of the gear to protect their precious little heads and bodies the best we can so I have to let go and let him be a boy . . . right?
