Christmas Angel ~

This sweet little Christmas angel was among several items I received in a package from my cousin in Germany . . . a nice surprise waiting for me on my front door step today! She also sent me several books on the history of the city of Augsburg, where I was born and where she still resides . . . thank you dear cousin!

  1. Thank you, Cheryl . . . it sure was a very nice surprise and made me smile big time! The books on the history of Augsburg are so interesting. Then the twins, my second cousins, each drew me a picture, they are so cute! It feels good to still have my family connections in Germany.

  4. Thank you, Jasia, Carol and Betty, she was a lovely and welcomed surprise! I agree, Jasia, I had missed getting my packages from my Oma in Germany . . . when I received this one from my cousin, it was such a great feeling. I love the contents but just seeing the box did it . . . she made my Christmas!

  5. Thank you, Lucie, having family still in Augsburg keeps me connected to a very special place and to mom's history, I love it . . . one day, I want to go back to visit . . . if I can get my nerve up to fly for 17 hours! It was a wonderful early Christmas gift . . . I'm a lucky girl!

  6. I have located relatives in Germany and keep in regular touch with one of them. The Christmas Markets are in full swing now. Perhaps that is where your angel lived before coming to your home to be treasured.

  7. Kathy, you are probably correct on where that little Christmas angel came from. Augsburg has a beautiful Christmas market . . . in fact, I usually have it on my computer every Christmas via webcam but for some reason this year (and not at a good time) the webcam is down due to the Rathaus Plaza going thru renovations! I miss seeing and watching my birth place hustle and bustle about! You feel as if you are there.

You can see it but you have to roll your mouse over the webcam icon on the map but I can't get the full screen any longer. It's so pretty there. Here is the link - http://www.stadtplan.augsburg.de/mapsight/stadtplan?setregister=webcams&setlist=webcams roll your mouse over the icon described as . . . Perlach Rath. RathausPlatz. Thank you for stopping by.
