I love your stained glass. I have one too made with mauve/purple and greens..but no flowers (guess I wasn't into them). I could look at yours forever.
ReplyDeleteWOW - That is really gorgeous - I bet it really looks pretty when the sun shines through it!
ReplyDeleteOh, Gini - another point of connection. My Mom grew the most beautiful sweet peas in her garden and they always make me thing of her. And I hate it that I can't grow decent sweet peas here in Virginia. Plus, I really love stained glass. What a beautiful thing to be able to look at every day!
ReplyDeleteAh, thank you all for stopping by, it's been a while since I have been around here! I thought mom's pretty stained glass was a great way to start.
ReplyDeleteYou are so right, Terri, the sun is shining thru as I type this - it's gorgeous and brings a smile to my face when I look over . . . the photo I sent you does not do this justice (as above) but it is special to look at while sitting here researching our family!
Barbara, I bet yours is just as lovely, mom had this made for a large window that was at the landing of her stairway . . . the top of the window was half moon shaped so it really looked pretty there and especially when the sun did shine thru - her curtains that hung below this stained glass were white sheers from Germany, so the entire window treatment was beautiful. I think I may have a photo of that window in her home . . . hmmmm, gotta look now!
Greta, yes, another point of a connection for us . . . I learned that sweet peas like to be planted (seed) in October or November and in full sun. I didn't think mine would even come up because I was late this year and planted them in April! I am only getting a few but still, they are wonderful. Sweet peas and Hydrangea's are my two favorite flowers. Both mom and I have always loved stained glass, I feel very fortunate that I was able to recover this piece from her home, I know it was special to her and now it graces my window . . . yes, it's beautiful to look at each day and I make sure I do . . . it puts a smile on my face and touches my heart.
The colors are fab!
