A memory is a photograph taken by the heart...to make a special moment last forever...and of all the memory-pictures that happy times can bring, the best are those that families make together ~

Blowing bubbles ~

My grandson picked a little bottle of bubbles for his prize at school today. As my grandson blew bubbles, our dog, Koda, would run after the bubbles trying to bite them. If you would like to see him in action and more bubble photos, click here.

Birthday's and the Petting Zoo ~

We had a double birthday party for two of our grandchildren at our home. Their birthday's are only a week apart, one turning two and the other turning four.  Long time friends of the family has a petting zoo and two ponies that visits little children's birthday parties on request. They are so cute. All the kids were able to sit, hold, feed and interact with chickens, guinea pigs, rabbits, and baby chicks. Others were enjoying pony rides. We also had a blow-up jumpy, a trampoline, and a play structure . . . it was quite a day but I think the children enjoyed themselves. Click on the link under the photo to see more of the petting zoo if you like.

Bucky ~

Bucky, our wooden rocking horse, was bought for our first grandchild in 1999. We now have seven grandchildren and they all love Bucky. As you can see, Bucky is a little beat up and missing his wooden handles...that's why he is missing part of his mane... the children use it as a place to hold onto while rocking back and forth.  Bucky is very tolerant and keeps the kids smiling as they rock and drag him all over the house!

Knott's Berry Farm Waterfall ~

This is the waterfall at Knott's Berry Farm in Buena Park, CA. There is a little suspension bridge you can walk across that leads you to the inside of the caves (that you can see behind where the water is falling). The kids love to run across the bridge shaking it to and fro, scaring their Oma!

Lemons, and more lemons ~

Our lemon tree out back, is loaded with lemons this year. The grandkids are attempting to make lemon-aid and set up a stand in the neighborhood...gonna need alot of sugar!  We have a lime tree right next to the lemon tree, so we are getting lemon-limes.  I was trying to talk the kids into just bagging them up and sharing with the neighbors...we'll see how that goes!

Desert fun ~

The little quad rider is my grandson. When time permits, we try to camp out at the desert and get away from it all. About four or five families hit the road together, and head out to our favorite spot in the desert and camp out for the weekend. It's only about an hour and a half from home.

Homework, Pride and Prejudice and Zombies??!

I was quite surprised to find this book amongst my granddaughter's homework pile!
I had no idea that there was even a Pride and Prejudice and Zombies book, written by Jane Austin and Seth Grahame-Smith.  At first I thought it to be a spoof of Jane Austin's, Pride and Prejudice book...my granddaughter quickly informed me that it was not a spoof, and a very good book!
Learn something new everyday ~ may have to read this one to find out for myself.
